Here is the recipe for Butterscotch Brownies from my Grandma's Kitchen...
2/3 cup butter
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
Bake in 9x9 or 11x7 pan in oven at 350
Of course there was know time limit so, oh and I forgot to mention that I have two sizes of pans...9x13 and 8x8, so I chose the later and set the timer at 25 minutes, and hoped for the best.
After 25 minutes the brownies smelled great but needed more time. But not 15 minutes more time. Next time I will know 30-35 minutes should make them perfect.
Here are some of the comments from my family when the kids came home from CCD. Alyssa, "it smells good in here." Alexis, "If you are hiding we are going to eat all of this yummy delicious dessert that you made." Kris, "These look and smell great!"
I am truly blessed. I had a wonderful grandma who taught me and my dad the wonders of cooking, especially baking.
Love you, Grandma.
Laura
P.S. I forgot to add that there was a note on this recipe that stated you could add a cup of nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut to this recipe. Also, the original recipe didn't have an oven temperature on it. I just guessed. I had added the chocolate chips and then wished I hadn't. Grandma Johnson was allergic to chocolate and we always ate these plain, they were soooo good. Enjoy and let me know if you happen to try it out.
